At Xena Health, we are frequently asked whether we accept insurance. We DO utilize your insurance for Labs and Medication, but not for our clinic fee. To help clarify, we’ve outlined our approach below.
Our Philosophy on Insurance
We believe the traditional insurance model isn’t well-suited to the level of care we provide. Our goal is to spend quality time evaluating and treating each patient. Unfortunately, insurance often limits the time available for patient care. At Xena Health, we prioritize educating our patients about their health concerns, treatment options, and how we can support them. This requires a thorough and personalized approach that the insurance model typically doesn’t accommodate.
What Can I Expect from My Appointment?
Our initial consultations are one hour long, during which we thoroughly educate patients about menopause, perimenopause, hormone therapy options, and treatment plans. This extended time allows us to explore other relevant health concerns, including gynecological issues. We believe in providing comprehensive care, which requires time—a resource that the insurance model often limits.
What Does My Insurance Cover?
While we don’t bill insurance for consultations, we do utilize it for ordering labs and medications. Additionally, we provide “superbills,” which you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement of your appointment costs.
Your appointment will consist of a full hour face-to-face with your provider. Unlike traditional models where much of your time is spent waiting, our focus is on spending quality time understanding your health concerns and providing education, rather than rushing through the visit.
Without the constraints of insurance-driven volume, we can offer same-day or next-day appointments, ensuring you receive timely care without long waits.
Our commitment doesn’t end after the initial visit. We provide ongoing support and follow up to ensure you get the care you need. We’re dedicated to continuing care beyond the treatment phase.
For our hormone therapy plans, most follow-up appointments can be handled via telehealth after the initial consultation, minimizing the need for repeated office visits.
With us, there are no unexpected bills or confusing charges. Our pricing is clear and predictable because we don’t work within the complex insurance billing structure.
Our goal is to address as many of your health concerns as possible in a single appointment, unlike the insurance model where multiple visits may be required to cover all issues. We understand your time is valuable, and we strive to provide care that respects that.
At Xena Health, we believe in delivering quality care, education, and personalized treatment plans—all without the limitations of the traditional insurance model.
Xena Health does not accept insurance at this time. We can however work with your insurance provider to submit labs and medications. We also offer the ability for you to submit a “superbill” to your insurance provider for possible direct reimbursement.
We operate under a Fee for Service Model. Our Initial Consult Fee is $250. This model allows us to provide direct care to you without the hassle of insurance dictating what treatment you can receive and how long you have to wait for an appointment.
Xena Health does offer telehealth services, in particular with many of our follow-up appointments.
Xena Health would love to the opportunity to be your primary care provider. We do provide this ans an Add-on service to our Wellness packages. During your appointment, we will be glad to discuss the options available to you.
We do not administer pellet HRT at this time. Pellets are hormones that are embedded under the skin. Once inserted, they should not be removed and can be active in your body for months. We utilize oral medication, creams, and vaginal tabs/suppositories that can be changed and tailored specifically to your bodies’ response in a quick manner. By doing this, we are easily able to modify your treatment plan to optimize your results.
Office Hours are by Appointment Only (M – F 9:00 – 5:00 pm)
